Almost 50 years ago, specifically in December 1965, eighteen philanthropists in the State of Kuwait have taken upon themselves the establishing and founding of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society and held their first meeting at the time in order to declare this humanitarian establishment well in effect, which later became one of the prominent landmarks in the field of humanitarian and relief work in the world.
In this meeting, the founders approved the fundamental rules of procedure for the Kuwait Red Crescent Society as a Voluntary Society with humanitarian work as its main mandate
They, then submitted their proceedings to the Government of the state of Kuwait for accreditation and granted official declaration of establishment on the 10th of January 1966, which was facilitated by the signing of the Government of Kuwait on the four Geneva Conventions of 1949 and led to the acceptance of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society in the International League of Red Cross and Red Crescent societies, later known as the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in 1991.

The Kuwait Banking Association (KBA) was declared on May 16, 2001 based on Ministerial Resolution No. 82 for the year 2001, to replace the Kuwait Banking Committee established on December 12, 1981, pursuant to an agreement among the Chairmen of local banks, to strengthen their cooperation, facilitate coordination in addressing their common issues, enable them to keep abreast with developments in banking systems, and raise their employees standards.
